About my Art

I use oil paint sticks 99% of the time and paint with my fingers. I love the feeling of the canvas and the blending of paints. The finished product has a unique and beautiful texture from painting with my fingers.

I find the connection with my work is almost obsessive. I can sometimes work in a single sitting up to 8-10 hours, sometimes longer.

Over the last 15 years, I have learnt many new techniques in using oil sticks, with blending and the different sort of textures you can achieve.

All of my work starts by sketching with pencil, then add colour with soft pastels. From there I decide if it needs a large or small canvas. Then, I make my frame, stretch and prime the canvas.

I find the whole process, from start to finish, very therapeutic and visually satisfying.
